60 yr AMO/PDO cycles

Both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans have temperature oscillations that last roughly 60 years. That would be 30 years of warming followed by 30 years of cooling.

Pacific Decadal Oscillation

It is interesting, if you breakout the temperature graphs into 30 year segments, you can clearly see warming from 1910-1940, and 1970-2000, but cooling during the other periods. These are the 30 yr oceanic oscillations warming/30 yr cooling phases of the PDO/AMO.

So does this mean the 1998-2028 period is the cooling phase? So if you look at each of the 30 periods since 1880 you can clearly see a continuous cycle of 30 years of cooling followed by 30 years of warming.

1880 – 1910
1910 – 1940
1940 – 1970
1970 – 2000
1998 – 2015
