US Forest fires are on the rise

Not to be outdone by heatwaves, forest fires are also on the rise. This time the graphic can only start in the 80’s because there were too few to count before that. It must be almost zero.

But is that true. Luckily, the US Department of Agriculture keeps track of burned acreage. Who knew!! OMG, they did it again though. They skipped over the period of much high acreage loss and found the lowest point to begin their graph of a rapidly rising burning up planet. I am starting to see a pattern here. Look at where 1983 is located on this graph.

What if we overlayed them? Here is what it would look like.
